From Wyoming to South Dakota

23 Jun 2010--Left Cheyenne, WY yesterday for Rapid City, South Dakota. It was about a 6 hour drive, a little longer than usual, but pretty interesting. Look how the landscape changes as we go form one state to the next.

Leaving Wyoming.

Entering South Dakota. This is right at the state line. Check out the video.

I haven't been able to get the state flag yet, but here is the license plate. I think it would be nicer if the presidents stood out a little more.

We are staying for the next week in Rapid City, home of Ellsworth AFB. The Famcamp is pretty nice, so we are happy with that.

We had some stormy weather last night, we were actually under a tornado watch for a couple hours. A little scary under any circumstances, never mind in an RV!

On to Mt Rushmore tomorrow.

  2. The last photo, the one where it actually looks like a tornado forming, doesn't get big :(
Yeah, there's a whole lotta nothing out there, altho it had to have gotten better as you got closer to Rapid city. BTW maybe you could find out where that name came from. Is there a big raging river or something?
